Recently, Vice President Sara Duterte unleashed a threat of killing President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as said to her statement on November 23, 2024. The issue roots to the constrict of the Marcos Administration with regards to the hearing of the Confidential fund of the Office of the Vice President and to herself.

The result of the Leader’s conflict may take effect on the economic performance and people’s opinion leading to economic downfall, division of societal perceptions and the decrease in governmental trust.

Firstly, The ongoing conflict may lead to economic downfall. As we all know leaders play an important role in managing the economic system of the country.  Their efforts reflect on the economic performance and the growth of it always rely on them. Conflict on them might literally create an economic recession in which the competitiveness of our money becomes insufficient, increase in inflation rate as well as debt increase are more likely to contribute to a severe downturn of the economy.

Secondly, is the division on societal perceptions. People of the country always have the right to take into account the happenings within the government to properly assess how leaders perform in their respective field of work areas. The Leader’s conflict takes effect on establishing beliefs by beliefs, supporting one sidedly and eroding the union of the government. This is why personal agendas and separate principles should be taken separately to deliver a unity that will benefit the Philippines in all cost.

Lastly, the decrease in governmental trust. Society depends on how leaders manage the system of the government and take control of the economy. However, if the government tears apart then people will lose their trust to the government resulting in just depending on their own or the loss of government legitimacy. Additionally, the people could possibly consider international migration, choosing a more stable and affordable life abroad.

Conclusively, Leader’s conflict implicitly deliver an implication to domestic and international relations. However, these seriously impacts the economic performance, the societal perceptions and the governmental trust of the people. To the leaders, you should be a role model for every Filipinos. You should carry the importance of care, communication, camaraderie, and conflict resolution to effectively govern the country. Decisively, as Filipino citizen we should listen to government’s current situation. Also, we should always promote unity not just our personal agenda to ensure that every Filipino voices are heard and uplifted. Let us all be reminded that “Leaders are not meant to create conflict but the reflection of the Constitution’s Principle.”
